Re: Dino Soldo not in the tour band
After the Vienna concert: still missing Dino ... :( Well nothing is going to change now. You can always watch Live in London for your Dino fix. Wendy ... yes (sigh) ... and Songs From The Road. And there watching Dino as a most musical, sensitive, ingenious, creative and respectful sideman. Paul

Re: Dino Soldo not in the tour band
gaby&paul - you have intrigued me with your comment about Long Quiet Weekend. I guess I haven't listened to it "carefully" enough. How did it give you insight into the possibility of Dino touring/not touring with Leonard again? By reading between the lines, but maybe we´re overs...

Re: Dino Soldo not in the tour band
It is our sincere hope that Dino will perform with the band in 2013. (Although, after listening to the great "Long Quiet Weekend" carefully, we doubt he will.) Anyway, Dino, we wish you a peaceful Christmas and a really happy New Year. And thanks again for so many magic moments during the ...

Re: Dino Soldo not in the tour band
Thank you so much Marsha, we deeply agree with your post. You expressed exactly what we feel after having attended two concerts with the new band line-up. Meanwhile we think it is intended that the band is more subdued.

Re: Dino Soldo not in the tour band
Vicomte, thanks for your extensive and respectful response. We´re into LC, his music and his words since many years, becoming more passionate in the last decade, so unfortunately we did not see him performing live until 2008. Although we are quite familiar with the previous tour bands and arrangemen...

Re: Dino Soldo not in the tour band
Obviously this thread needs to be revitalized. Just returned home from the first Paris concert. Again it was a great evening as for Leonard`s performance and the intimicy of the venue. On the other hand during the whole show we again found ourselves deeply missing Dino and Bob, imagining how perfect...

Re: Dino not in the band
Mirka my comment had nothing to do with "worship" of Leonard. it had everything to do with someone suggesting that Leonard's shows had gone from "magic to mediocre" simply because of a change in band personnel. The only possible explanation that I could think of is that they wer...

Re: Dino not in the band
Personally I much prefer the new band line up to the last one. I felt that Dino sometimes was like a showman musician with some of his technique a little overpowering for LC's music. Alex I feel blends in better. I think this current line up still have some surprises waiting for us - remember Neil ...

Re: Dino not in the band
We agree with Mabeanie1 that the fiddle adds a completely new dimension, and there is no doubt that Mr. Bublitchi is a virtuos violin player. But on the first Ghent concert the sound of the violin seemed to dominate the scene and in the long run we found it tiring. It fitted perfectly to several son...

Re: CONCERT REPORTS: Ghent, Aug 12, 14, 15, 17 & 18
Despite all excitement we´re not yet used to the new sound. We´re still missing "the painter and master musician" Dino Soldo and the "irreplacable" Bob Metzger (wishing him all the best for his recovery!!). Gladly remembering the magic touch they gave to the UHTC we wish profound...
