Re: Ticketmaster Auctions - Fans Shafted?
Hey Jarkko What happened to free speech. I've made a very valid point and Cohen will have received a fee, reflective of what the promoter and ticket agents were planning. He could easily step in and say that's it's unethical, charging people £75 with a £19 booking fee on top if extortionate to start...

Re: Ticketmaster Auctions - Fans Shafted?
yes textatemp - and Springsteen doesn't care, and U2 doesn't care, and The Police don't care and even HANNAH MONTANNA doesn't care. (Sarcasm) Come on - it's called the music business for a reason - the artist gets paid a fixed amount by a promoter to appear and perform. That's their obligation and ...

Re: Ticketmaster Auctions - Fans Shafted?
I'm sure he has every power to have a say in fans being blatantly ripped off.
He just doesn't appear to care.

Ticketmaster Auctions - Fans Shafted?
If it wasn't enought for Cohen fans to pay the £300 - £600 ticketmaster are asking for each front block seat via their supposedly 'ticket exchange' facility, they are now auctioning all the front seats for the Manchester shows. I say supposedly as the ticketmaster ticket exchange was set up for fans...

Re: Benicassim update
FIB are still insisting he is booked in an announcement on their forum last week.
They say they have received no official cancellation notice from the tour management.
My guess is they are holding out the cancellation notice until they announce another act to cushion the backlash.

Re: Benicassim update
Official post from FIB on their website reads as follows: - I know that it is quite a concern, but all I can say at present is that Leonard Cohen is confirmed for this year's line-up, as we haven't received an official statement saying otherwise. As I said before, we will keep you informed as soon a...

Re: Benicassim update
I didn't give any reasons. I don't have any. Only suppositions. Same as you. I find it fascinating that one minute you are acknowledging that the O2 switch rumour seems impossible on logistical grounds and the next you are counting the takings like its stone cold fact. I personally hope LC is takin...

Re: Benicassim update
Agreed on the "little let down" bit, and the "little" would be understatement. I'd feel disappointed myself if the gig I'd bought tickets for was pulled and another replaced it. I wouldn't read that personally devastating turn of events as also fulfilling a rumour that the artis...

Re: Benicassim update
Although speculation at this point, rumours are about that LC has cancelled FIB to fit in an extra date at the O2, as this would be financially more beneficial than the festival slot at FIB. I cannot see this myself as the current logistics do not appear to allow this, unless he switches the Portug...

Re: Benicassim update
textatemp, I think Leonard and his management have enough to cope with right now than get involved in legal disputes with promoters such as FIB who used his name prematurely in order to sell tickets for their festival. Why not take your complaints to them. The idea of another 02 concert instead is ...

Re: Benicassim update
Jarkko Please don't get paranoid that I have joined to apply any pressure to the situation. Also, there is every point in continuing this discussion, as mentioned in my earlier posts, 1000's of people have bought tickets (and some, flights and accomodation) for FIB to see LC in Spain. If FIB (and ma...

Re: Benicassim update
"Benicassim is a wonderful quaint part of the world with a lovely unspoilt beach and surrounding area. The festival itself covers all of the arts from music, film, art and fashion." Textatemp, You don't happen to be an employee of the Benicasim Festival? I was there once and that was enou...
