Hunting In The Streets

Postby hophead on Sun Feb 12, 2012 3:13 pm

in a dank and squalid tavern

where passion is the fare

Cupid lingers like a hit man

you blend into the brass and oak

becoming ambiance

love is a mountain

you must climb from your stool

what a waste of time

you poor little sucker, you poor little fool

in a vacant parking lot

where shards of broken glass, gleam

as stars in the midnight sky

you pose on a decaying curbside

with hands upon your intuition, wondering why

the fall leaves blow wistfully

you breathe in air, crisp and cool

what a waste of time

you poor little sucker, you poor little fool

as scarlet tail lights fade

into the shadows of the night

you come to realise, that you’re alone

so it’s back to hunting in the streets

yes, hunting in the streets

Do you have a tune to go with this, hophead?
Have you turned it into song?
I'd love to hear it.
"Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken."

Hophead and I go back a long way, we saw Service together in World War 3 sometime in the 2030's, and of course the kids will always be a bond. Yet, tonight I feel sad, sad I feel and feel sad I. Hophead, years hence, in the playgrounds of our dotage, made me a solemn cow, and then instantly realised his mistake 3 weeks later and turned it into a solemn vow instead. Typical of Old Hoppie. But this is not a time to applaud him but sadly we must all go "Boo" together and many times indeed. He once said to me, in perfect rhyme "Never, Fish, will I mistake
a noun and a verb
cos if I do
I deserve to be thrown into
a lake"

Then, fuck me, look what he does

"you breath in air, crisp and cool"

I need to go and lie down.
