Thanks so much for the reviews, photos and video clips. After so long Its wonderful to see him performing so majestically and sounding so much stronger than on "Dear Heather". Manchester and Edinburgh await.

I forgot
After the enthusiastic standing ovation when he walked on the stage, my eyes are misting up thinking about it, a man yelled out
"Long live Leonard Cohen" When I think back to last night what resinates with me is how happy he was and enjoyed himself. There was so much love and positive energy in the Playhouse, what an honour to see him at a small theater.

The underware reference.
Going from cotton underware to satin is easy, going back to cotton after being in satin underware [for a long period of time] is not so easy.
"Door hinge rhymes with orange" Leonard Cohen

Fredericton uploads on Youtube

Postby mirka on Tue May 13, 2008 12:01 am

There are a couple of Fredericton concert uploads on Youtube, surprisingly good quality, I'm just listening to "Who by fire".
I'm sure there will be more of them as the tour continues.

One surprise of the Fredericton show was that there was no "official merchandise" for sale. At least, I didn't see any.

There is merchandise coming - but it may take some time until the items are available (until the European leg of the tour begins????)

Am I, as you Americans say, missing something here?
If you didn't like it. how cold it be perfect for you?

Good G*d, I've heard and seen the clips on whateverit's called, and I'll tell you this: he's back in town, village, city, country, continent, heart.

Enough said.

He's back on Boogie Street!!!!!

It is just beyond exciting to hear the news of the show last nite, so up to date. I simply cant wait for Dublin 14th AND 15th
then to O2 in July.

Hope he stays well and his voice remains as strong as now.

Many thanks for the great reviews from all and what can I say Jarkko we are all indebted to you.

I thought the set list was perfect, I could not have imagined the night being any better. I picked up a set list on my way out, it was on the floor in front of the stage. The list matches those played, but there are other songs listed after closing time that he obviously didn't play. Does this mean that there wasn't enough time or something along these lines? If so, people in other cities may in fact get to hear famous blue raincoat, waiting for the miracle, along with a couple of others, if he follows the same list throughout the tour.

It's great to know that Leonard's got off to such a good start, and he's sounding fine (like he never left). I love the current image, too. I could do without any more those ghastly youtube clips, but good to have a taster, I guess. I think I'll give most of it a miss till June 17th now - to keep the surprise element. If there's one song that I would like to be included, it would be "Sisters of Mercy".

Love to all, John E

I'm not telling anyone what to do, but like John said above - if you're attending a show in the near future you might want to give the posted clips a miss - much of the fun was the unknown. I'd especially avoid clips of Leonard speaking as what he's saying might not be improvised but a rehearsed part of the show. The clip on youtube title "Rant" includes two of Leonard's best 'bits' of the night, one being a lead-in to a song. It was hilarious - - but maybe only the first time.

I wish I'd had a better attitude towards studying French in school. Of the 20 songs he played I think he introduced up to 18 of them in French.
