my favourite radio station here in Greece is paying a tribute to the great singer, songwriter, poet, writer and artist Leonard Cohen this week. This means they will be playing a lot of LC songs throughout the whole week and accompanying them with stories of his life, words from interviews and selected poems.
And I'm skipping lessons to listen to the radio.. :D

So, moment I am adoring today... Secretly listening to the radio in class (through my earphones) and being unable to pay attention to the teacher because of "So Long, Marianne".
"Oh chosen love, Oh frozen love
Oh tangle of matter and ghost
Oh darling of angels, demons and saints
And the whole broken-hearted host
Gentle this soul..."

Stamatina, glad to see your post here - the first one for several weeks!
As a teacher myself, shouldn't encourage your behavior. But I do it anyway 8)

I know I don't post much (it's actually a bit hard to follow the forum these days, so many new posts and discussions, so little time!) but I couldn't resist sharing this. :)
And thanks for the encouragement. 8) It's only for one week anyway.. :D

A few minutes ago, this was posted on my Facebook wall by my friend Anna from Ottawa.
I can't stop smiling. :D
greetings from Prague
Mary and I had lunch at a bistro and a German radio station was playing ... Leonard Cohen.
So of course we thought of you. Hope you are keeping well.

I was reading 'Behind The Scenes At The Museum' by Kate Atkinson last night.
Ruby is dreaming of her own funeral - 'The church is filled, not just with friends and family, but even people I have never known - an admiring Leonard Cohen and a soulful Terence Stamp, for instance.'
Ms Atkinson must be a fan. I like her even more.

Yes, I remember that thrill of fellow feeling when I read that book a few years ago (before this thread existed).
Thanks for the reminder!

I've been adoring this from the moment it was posted on the Camp Cohen Tumblr page: http://leonardcohen.tumblr.com/post/260 ... nafternoon

Would be nice if they did that on tour, wouldn't it?? :D

I've started attending the Universal Unitarian Church and this morning, just prior to the speaker talking on the topic "Loving What Is Broken," the person who would introduce the speaker said, "Let's first listen to kd lang... ." Did hearing "Hallelujah" ever feel good.

For the silent prayer part of the service, where we select a stone from a small, shallow, clear glass bowl... and then place it in a wide, shallow, clear glass bowl filled with water and some flowers floating on top... I prayed in remembrance and honour of my Mom, who died one year ago tomorrow... and then for healing for all the people impacted by the tragic event in Aurora, Colorado... including my prayer that there be no copycats anywhere.

Listening to Hallelujah was such a reminder for it all.
