You are not alone there, Johnos!

I hope there are several discs with lots of "extras", such as other songs performed at other concerts, etc.

We will love another CD of course, but if it is a recorded concert will it be a lot different to LIVE IN LONDON or SONGS FROM THE ROAD ?

As said before, at some point we hope to get a new live BluRay/DVD. Which concert, and when - no decisions made!
if it is a recorded concert will it be a lot different to LIVE IN LONDON or SONGS FROM THE ROAD ?
I would say yes, very different:
- changes in the band and instruments (Bob, Dino - Mitch, Alex and his violin)
- changes in the set lists (now many songs from Old Ideas etc.)
- all the progress between 2008 and 2013
- London is a standard quality DVD in 4:3 format. A new release would be in HD quality, a BluRay in 16:9 format

Thanks Jarkko
A new Live DVD is always welcome. Whenever it is ready~ so many good performances that it must be hard to choose which ones and where.
We are so lucky to have something like this to look forward to.

Likely that the live dvd will be from the latter part of the old ideas tour, likely that the live dvd will be recorded from a venue with multi night performances. Live from the O2 Dublin resonates nicely

Re: Live in London. Was that not one complete concert. I had always assumed that it was?

It's complete, I always assumed it was recorded all on the same night. But I do know of at least one artist who used recordings of two back-to-back performances in the same venue, cut together so the better version of each song could be used. If Leonard and the band were wearing different outfits on the two nights, they probably aren't going to be doing that. :)

It was. There was only one London concert in July 2008.

Thanks for the info. Helen and Wendy. That concert is so perfect to me... cannot say how many times I've watched it now. I would have been quite disappointed to find it was a compilation.

The problem for many I would have thought, although I can only speak for a few that I know, is that any DVD/CD from the last concert(s) in Ireland will have rather too much crowd "participation" as far as a few songs are concerned and people buying LC Cd's surely won't want his voice and the band shut out by the chanting of the fans. I suspect though that those songs would be cut out anyway, or perhaps not?
I guess it all started for me sometime around Christmas 1967 and now, goodness me, it's.........2018 and over fifty years later.
No one ever listens to me. I might as well be a Leonard Cohen record.

Crowd noise comment etc edited to suit. Very few differences between dublin 1 and 2 setlist. This band is so tight, I believe you could join part 1 of a song from night 1 to part 2 of the same song from night 2 and it would be seamless. Take a look at the videos of alexandra leaving from different venues, track length is similar to seconds. I think it will be a live in Dublin DVD as Leonard and the band appear to be at home in Dublin
