HALLELUJAH: REMEMBERING LEONARD COHEN
CREATED BY CHRIS MCHARGE & COLIN STEWART
Hudson Village Theatre, Hudson, Quebec
July 12th 2017 to July 16th 2017

HVT ProductionHallelujah is an exhilarating musical journey covering the enigmatic and inspiring career of poet/singer/songwriter Leonard Cohen. Recounting the intense and varied experiences and aspects of his life, music and writings, Hallelujah is staged with a fluidity that crosses time and space. Backed by a six-piece band of multi-instrumentalists and two female backup singers, led by Musical Director Colin Stewart, stories and songs are shared with the audience by a pair of passionate raconteurs, Aaron Solomon and Chris McHarge.

Solomon and McHarge, representing both a younger and older Cohen, take the audience on a moving musical odyssey, revealing the man behind the works that have inspired countless artists and moved so many people the world over.

A staggering song list includes, among many others: Suzanne; Bird on a Wire; Famous Blue Raincoat; I’m Your Man; First We Take Manhattan; Ain’t No Cure for Love; Democracy; The Future; Tower of Song; and, of course, Hallelujah!

It was a fabulous show! It was really a journey through LC's career, showcasing many of his well-known songs. Great band & back-up singers. For those who are not too familiar with LC, a great intro & of course to fans, this was a super remembrance of our Man! The cast have some tours planned in Canada & U.S. & one so far scheduled in Germany (Dortmund Hohensyburg). I highly recommend it!
