Sheku Kanneh-Mason - Leonard Cohen: Hallelujah

Winner of BBC Young Musician of the Year 2016, 17-year old cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason performs a new arrangement of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’, featured in the BAFTA award ceremony 2017. The video comes from the team at Kevin & Roy, shot at the iconic Abbey Road studios.

sheku wiol be at the baftas again this year - 18th feb, 2018.

let's hope leonard is refeatured.

I didn't watch this video when it was first posted here because I'm not one for covers of Leonard's songs - let alone but yet another "ah, oh hum here we go again" Hallelujah cover to ruin one of my favourite LC songs!

But after watching (rather listening to) this now, I may be forced to let this one resonate with me. It's an engaging musical rendition!

That is fantastic and very beautiful! What an exceptional young cellist (the rest of the string players aren't bad, either!).

For those who dislike vocal covers of Leonard's songs (that would be me!), but who may love instrumental music (classical in particular), you may like this one (I certainly do!). Thank god nobody sang.
