Hi,

There wasn't room in the heading space to include "& choir."

This is better than very nice.

Interesting. I ran across this on a News site and then came here to post a new thread (I might still do so) entitled "Reclaiming Hallelujah".

Here is what I've posted in three places online at this point:

"As wonderful and heartfelt a story as this is, it deserves mention somewhere that the song she is singing is *not* Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. The lyrics have been modified so drastically from Cohen's that it is effectively a completely different song. That doesn't take away from this young lady's accomplishment in any way, but calling this "Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah" is both inaccurate and a disservice to Leonard."

I've grown increasingly offended by the "rewrites" of Hallelujah and hope others here will join me in KINDLY pointing out that this is not Cohen's Hallelujah.

(Speaking of re-written Lyrics, I recently heard a school choir sing an unbelievably offensive version of "Imagine", which removed all references to atheism and then had the effrontery included the lines "No needless war or killing." I'm not kidding. I wanted to scream.)
