A site, possibly interesting for the Dubliners and the guests of the city:
http://googlemapsmania.blogspot.com/201 ... stone.html
"Storymap presents a charming vision of Dublin through its stories and storytellers."

Don't you want to Cohenize this site a bit?

In addition to Gobus and citylink mentioned in earlier posts, there is also Bus Eireann.

Currently a special offer of only 5Euros each way if booked in advance online. Worth a look if you are travelling between 10.00am. and 3.pm between these cities.

The timetable which says from 11th September 2011 is still the same.

Margeret, it looks to me that 5 euro is only if you leave from the beginning of the route in Dublin Centre ?

On there website:
All routes listed are €5 single in either direction, end-to-end only until 31st October 2013

Ah Ha! I already asked about that, and Deirdre has rung the bus company. It is OK to pick up the bus at the airport. The "end to end" rules are just to put off people getting on for only part of the journey across Ireland. Going all the way to Galway from the airport is OK, and I suppose back again, as long as the journey starts between 10.00 and 15.00.

So the 5 euro one starts from the airport? It says you must have tickets printed off. So my flight gets in about 11 would it be best to book the 12 or 1 coach.

If the above doesn't work go to journey planner and download timetable for Dublin/Galway which seems to be the X20
The timetable shows that only certain buses (alternate ones) will stop to pick up or drop off at the airport. They start or end at the main bus station in Dublin.

if you land at 11.00 then you will need to get the 12.00 from Dublin (central bus station) which picks up at the airport, Atrium Road at 12.20.

You have to book online with a credit card and print out a receipt which you show the bus driver along with photo ID. He will then give you a proper ticket.

Work out your time back for the return trip to see if an appropriate bus will get you there in good time for checking in, and book it separately if it is within the off peak 10.00 to 3.00 times.

I booked my bus ticket Margaret but I did not book the 5 euro one I ended up booking the 18 euro as it was an open return. The 5 euro confused me I was not 100% sure that it was stopping at the airport because it said "direct". Any how it was only 8 euros more and I do not have to specify what time coach I want.
