What a stunning performance of Joan of Arc. Thank you for the video Arlene. It's just soooo beautiful. I hope that Leonard comes back to Europe with the song in the setlist. :)

Well, in the end it has been "nailed" for you, Arlene! :)
Let's hope it will stay on the setlist!
I'm very happy you were there to live it and to capture it for all of us.
How was the audience reaction when they realised he was starting Joan of Arc?

We had great seats, directly above the sound/light boards. Thank you Jarkko! Last time in Portland we were up in the C section and I vowed never again.

I had no idea that I was seeing the first Joan of Arc on this tour! I loved the songs off Old Ideas, and loved the whole evening. Daughter and wife felt that they were too "slick," but that is just their opinion.

Due to my daughter not feeling good and due to same daughter having to get up at 6am, we left after "Save the Last Dance for Me." It killed me to do it but I felt that I had to. I assume that there was one more encore.

Is there a setlist somewhere?

Save the Last Dance for Me was the final song that they played. I was actually able to grab a setlist and I was shocked at how many songs that were on there that they didn't play: Sisters of Mercy, The Guests, Chelsea Hotel, Different Sides, Gypsy Wife, The Partisan, Famous Blue Raincoat, Closing Time, Tried to Leave You, Crazy to Love You, Night Comes On, I Can't Forget, Coming Back to You, Light as the Breeze.

It was the shortest set that I have seen him play (27 songs), but it was still amazing. I LOVED their new(ish) version of Heart with No Companion.

Here are a few more of my videos from the wonderful Portlland concert.
My seat was off to the side of stage right. Some of the entries on stage were visible. There are a few shadow peeks in my videos.

The set WAS shorter, by a song or two, than other sets. But I put that down to the fact that the crew had to load out, truck all this stuff to Vancouver BC, go through customs, and then load in and set up for the next night up there.

Part of me feels greedy, but I also would have left, due to family needs. It was wonderful, though, as usual. And it is ironic and decades ago, he played Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland (the I'm Your Man tour) and it was barely half full. He commented on the "few, the discerning" concertgoers, and then did a great show.
