I just got a phone call from Pizza Express Live. The Birmingham show on April 8 I booked for has been cancelled. Time is tight to do both shows (the reason I decided not to do both myself) and Nadine has chosen to play the lunchtime show in London in preference to the Birmingham show.

I'm gutted.

I do hope that NEeMA gets the support she so deserves on this tour. Following her excellent "Watching You Think" album (co-produced by Leonard) she made another fine album "Painting My Wall Gold" last year. This was released with sponsorship by Pledge Music, and there was a great response on the Forum when I encouraged people to pledge to buy the album. Let's hope that NEeMA gets similar support on her tour (note: there are two London dates now)!

Neema played a wonderful set in Stoke Newington tonight at a great little venue there. Her set included three Leonard songs (Avalanche, Famous Blue Raincoat, and best of all Anthem). She also played most of the great tracks from her last two albums. The audience was small but highly appreciative.

If you possibly can, please come and support her at Pizza Express in Dean Street, Soho this Saturday at 1.00 pm (12 hours away at the time of writing). I was originally only planning to go to one gig, but after Stoke Newington, I couldn't possibly miss the Soho gig, and hope to see some of you there. Let's make her visit to London worthwhile!

See you at Pizza Express John! A recent Virgin Trains seat sale made it possible for me though I have to dash back to Birmingham straight after the show.

The venue website is showing the event as passed as of 11:00 am! But the show doesn't start till 1:30 pm (tables available from midday) so I suggest you give them a call if you want to go.

Wendy - Thanks for posting. I saw the ad earlier, and rang Pizza Express, but they told me that the website person isn't there to change it. There are still plenty of seats for the Soho gig. I've confirmed and you can just turn up and pay at the door (£15). Neema will be playing at 1.30 pm.

NEeMA got a better turnout at Pizza Express, even though there were still lots of empty seats. It was good to meet the other Forum members who turned up; namely Wendy Marshall plus Padma and her friend. We got an additional Leonard song at Pizza Express; NEeMA's version of "If it be your Will". NEeMA's off to Ireland now, so I'm hoping the Irish Forum members will show theIr legendary enthusiasm and give her their full support!
