Thanks for this. The Manchester date is not yet showing on Adam's facebook page?

Not too sure about the venue though. Is anyone familiar with it?

I know that this has been discussed on other social media formats however, for anyone not aware:

Message I received from AXS.com, yesterday 9th Feb, confirming what some of us suspected for a while:

Hello,

Due to previously unforeseen scheduling conflicts in his native Canada, Adam Cohen has regretfully been forced to cancel his headline show at London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on Friday 20th February. Details of a new show will be announced in due course. Adam would like to thank his fans for their continued support and apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Refunds are available at your point of purchase.

Best regards,
The AXS team

Very disappointed at the late notice cancellation, as well as very frustrating, to say the least, for those who, like us, have already paid out for accommodation and/or travel... :(

An excuse, that's what it was.

My money is on poor ticket sales. Whoever thought Adam could fill Shepherd's Bush Empire???

Karen and I chatted with Adam after the show in Manchester on Sunday Ist February and he was very dejected about poor ticket sales in Manchester and said he would not be back. He did say that London is different as he can sell 600 tickets there but you say he was due to perform at Shepherds Bush Empire and that has 2,000 which is 3.5 times 600.

He asked me how I had heard about his show and I said I just keep checking on his website but added I had not seen any publicity and I suggested he needs to ask his agent what they did to promote the tour.

I also asked him whether he knows his album sales in each country and he said he only knows his global sales and agreed he needs to take more of a business approach to his career. T

he show was great and Adam was really up for it but afterwards he looked really tired and depressed about his progress in terms of popularity.

I know he was reluctant to come out and meet us but when he did he was quite chatty.

It is not for fans to help promote someones career but LC are different and Adam is part of what we are about and we should do all we can to help him if there is anything we can do.

Any Ideas ?

I think the starting point should be for the promoters and management to be a bit more careful about what they put out there. Those of us who have lost money on the cancelled shows will not be rushing to book again. I lke Adam and I really like his music but I am very unhappy about the money I have lost on this. Leaving fans unhappy is not a good way to build a following.

I noticed the publicity for Manchester was poor. Had I not heard about it here or on Adam's Facebook site I don't think I would have known at all. Even on the day there was nothing at all at the venue, even though there was publicity displayed for lots of other artists around the venue, some not appearing for several weeks.

I was surprised there were seats as my ticket said it was all standing, but for the number of people there at least the seats seemed to pad it out a bit more.

I agree he and his management need to be much more business like and as Wendy says it will be difficult to keep his fans if they have lost money on hotels and travel. It is no good giving refunds on tickets when hotels, trains, time off work and other such things cost so much more.

Such a shame as I really enjoyed Manchester and love his music.

There is a saying in entertainment "the show must go on" and at worse an alternative venue should be found, if at all possible, to a smaller or bigger venue according to ticket sales. sadly unless things really change we may not see Adam in UK again or perhaps just occasionally at a small venue in London not for the sake of British Fans but because London is a must do location for publicity e.g. getting on Jules Hollands "Later"

I wish Adam & co thought London was a "must do" location Clive. That way we would still have a show to go to!

Must do in the future when they will book more suitably sized venues but seems clear to me he pulled out to avoid playing to a quarter filled venue.
