I would like to say a huge 'Thank You' to Joe, Anne and Family and all the others involved in the organisation of the Madison Event.

Everything was wonderful from start to finish, a beautiful location, a warm welcome, lots of friendly people, fabulous accommodation, excellent Leonard Cohen-related events, great excursions and even an epic tour of Epic's buildings for a select few (see Maarten's photos).

I am running out of superlatives but as you might deduce, I thoroughly enjoyed the week in Madison and the time we spent in Chicago beforehand.

Fantastic time, everything was great, and it was nice that we were not so many, as I really feel I got to know a lot of people better, including the two of you and your daughter and her hubby.

We echo appreciation and thanks to Joe, Anne and all the others who worked so creatively to make this event so wonderful. We still linger with it daily as we admire the exquisite LC concert photo from Vern Silver that we've framed and hung.....and listen over and over to the dynamic John Kloberdanz CD.....and enjoy all the amazing photos from Maarten and amazing photos and videos from Ken that just keep coming in. Most of all we still feel the warmth and friendliness of all of you with whom we got to spend some time. Thanks for making us Neophytes feel at home!

The Finnish group (Sinikka, Eija & me) has arrived in Ghent from Chicago via Madrid.
We are so happy that we made it to the beautiful city of Madison!
It was such a great pleasure to see old friends again - and meet so many new!

Dear Joe and Anne,

Even though George and I had been looking forward to attending this event, what you put together, by far exceeded all our expectations.

The opening reception was so well attended and gave us an opportunity to re-unite with old friends and make new friends. All your planned activies were so well thought out and gave us all an insight into what Madison has to offer - such a lovely city. The concerts, open mic sessions, and sing-a-longs gave us the LC 'fix' we needed until we are able to actually attend an LC concert.

The closing night, with the dance and the Yid Vicious appearance - what a hoot! And the food, soooo very scrumptious!!

THANK YOU so much for all the time and effort you put in to making this such and enjoyable event. WE LOVED IT ALL!

we have heard all the beautiful reports from your Madison event and are really so sorry we had to miss it.
The finnish committee and belgian committee were very entusiastic, we met them in Gent as you know

We were with you in our mind, and thank you for organizing this all for us cohenites ......it is a BIG EFFORT AND WORK...now relax and enjoy all upcoming other meetings in future, wherever, whenever beeing guest and not organizer.

Thank you Joe, Anne, everyone in attendance, and those we were unable to meet!

Our first event exceeded all expectations and left us wanting more. Every aspect was perfectly executed and enjoyable-it's hard to pick a favorite. Some memorable highlights were the open mic session showcasing the talent of LC's biggest fans, resting beneath the bells as LC's music rang through our ears and throughout the beautiful city of Madison, and of course the performance of Sylvie and Heidi the dynamic duo.
What a great last trip for me and Emily before she heads off to college. Maybe if she listens real hard late at night in her dorm she'll hear the enchanting echo of LC's "la la, la la la la la la"

Best wishes to those we met in Madison. We hope to see you again soon.
