Hi Sue & Lizzy,
Sorry about the confusion with the bus. There are not enough people to make it cost effective to charter a bus from Chicago-especially as inexpensive as the Megabus is.

Ten Chimneys is located about 1 & 1/2 hour from Madison and I believe that the tour takes from 2 to 3 hours. If we leave about 9 AM, we will return between 3 & 4 PM. Plan on the bus to O'Hare Airport to be about 3 hours. I posted the bus schedule in one of the earlier posts in this thread.

Hope this helps,

Joe

Hi Joe ~

Thanks.

Now, what are the costs associated with the Ten Chimneys tour? I'm trying to decide whether to go on it this time, or take it in another time when I'm in the Wisconsin area... more likely, now that I'm retired than when I was working.

Thanks for the answers re: the costs. I need to book my flights soon.

Sue... if you have trouble booking the bus from Chicago to Madison, and want to go on the same one we are, I can book it for you, and then you can pay me when you see me.

That's right!!! Email Jarkko!

And... check out the site where it says [and I JUST noticed it] that tickets aren't to be resold... does that mean US?? When I just bought one for the woman coming from Italy, I'm wondering if I should have used my card, but put HER address... I think I had to put my address... can't even remember for sure now  .

Don't worry Lizzie, the e-ticket has no name, just a code.

Hi Lizzie! The bus story is really a mess to me :?
I've booked all my flights to and from Madison WI. I arrive to Chicago O'Hare on July 30th 12:47 PM flying US Airways.

Hi Joe ~

I'm wanting to book the bus from the campus to O'Hare and have a couple questions.

(1) How far is the pick-up point at Memorial Union from our on-campus hotel? [Don't want to miss the 7 AM bus.]

(2) Leaving campus at 7 AM would get me to the terminal by 10 AM for a 1:05 PM departure.
Does 3 hours TO the airport; plus 3 hours AT the airport, leave enough time for road traffic, as well as boarding time at O'Hare?

Thanks!

It is a block & 1/2.

This should be plenty of time.

Sylvie Simmons, the author of the forthcoming biography of LC,
and our special guest in Madison, has asked if anyone who is going to
Madison will be driving from Madison to Chicago on Monday 6th August,
and if so, would they have space for another passenger, ie Sylvie.
She'll be very happy to pay for gasoline.
The timetable of the return trips on the bus would either leave her
wandering around Chicago with her ukulele and case for hours, or will
make her miss the flight, which is in the early evening.

Please email me at ja@nebula.fi if you could offer Sylvie the ride.
I will forward your email it to her.
