Montrealers traveling to Boston

Post by Damfino »

I'll be in Montreal the week of the Boston shows, and plan to drive to Boston on Saturday, May 30. I imagine that other Montrealers will be doing the same.

What are peoples' plans regarding places to stay in -- or on the route to and from -- Boston? I doubt that I'd want to attempt a 300 mile return drive after the concert, so I've been looking for inexpensive accommodations. Thanks for any tips.

I'm not from Montreal but I have a similar 300 mile trip back home to New Jersey. I'm staying at the Marriott Courtyard Boston Woburn/Boston North which is about 10 miles north of the theatre on Interstate 93. The place was by far the cheapest place to stay that was not a "roach-motel" I'm staying Friday-Sunday in a deluxe king bed suite using my AAA discount for a cost of $147USD total for both nights with tax, use of indoor pool, and parking included. If I recall one night without AAA discount was something like $75 plus tax. You can book direct at the Marriott.com website. I just booked it this afternoon so you should still be able to get a similar rate. Everything else in the area was either a dump or if it was nice it was around $200+ per night. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the great tip, bigdee. I had been looking mostly in New Hampshire, figuring that Boston-area rates would all be pricey. I'll follow this lead. Cheers.

You can stay off the Mass Turnpike or 93 and still get a good rate and be in travelling distance to Boston. I am staying in Milford ( which is on 495) and has some cheaper hotels, a holiday inn, Radisson and Days Inn I think .... the Patriots stay at the Radisson before game days as its a 30 minute ride to Foxboro. Its less than one hour from Boston. I am staying in this little town in Central Mass cuz I grew up there and I can stay with my mom and dad....... at their house...

sorry no guests this time...

See you all in Boston on Friday and Saturday.... show starts at 8pm....

This was accommodation in a very central part of Boston, literally 100 yards from Boston Public Park and only 5 minutes walk from the shops on Charles Street. We had what in England we would call a ground floor flat, but in Boston was called a 1st floor apartment.
