Hi Kingston folks,

I am writing with a request from Edmonton. Leonard played here back on April 25 and you are in for a real treat with his upcoming show in Kingston. A dear friend was at the Leonard show with me, and she is a HUGE fan. She did not purchase a 2009 Concert Tour Program at the Edmonton show and has been regretting it ever since. We were scheming to think of ways to get her a Program.

Just a couple days ago, my friend was in quite a serious car accident. She will be ok, but there will be quite a long recovery time. As soon as I'd heard, I thought immediately of trying to get this concert tour program for her, and the only way I can think of is to ask a kind Canadian Leonard fan going to one of the upcoming shows to send one to me and I will give it to her. Of course, I would pay for the program and mailing costs in advance. I know it would mean a lot to her and help to cheer her up as she recovers.

Hello everyone.

I've just phoned Woodenheads, a tapas bar on Ontario Street, a few blocks from the K-Rock Centre. They will be open until midnight on the Friday of the concert. Most venues in Kingston shut down before midnight. Woodenheads is used to the after-concert crowd. They said they could take reservations for ten people, but more than that and we would have to take our chances. I think we're going to have to take our chances.

The alternative would be the Iron Duke which is a British pub on nearby Wellington street. It also caters to the post-concert crowds.

I propose that we stick with Woodenheads -- but am open to persuasion.

Pick-up of the will call tickets begins already at 3 pm, at THE RADIO CITY COMPANY STORE
1270 Ave of the Americas, (between the subway entrance and the Body Shop).
Early entry for members into the outer lobby will start at 6:00 pm
This information is only for show #1 (May 16) – there is no early entry on show #2 (we did not have pre-sale)

Hamilton May 19: 6.30 pm entry through box office entrance - Bay Street
Quebec City May 21: 6.30 pm by the box office
Kingston May 22: 6.30 by the box office
London May 24: 7.00 pm (no early entry - but tickets can be picked up earlier)

Woodenheads tapas bar is a 5-10 walk to the K-Rock centre. I suggest that, if you are in town, join us for a drink and tapas at Woodenheads at 5:30. One by one the guests will arrive.

Those who want to head off to the reception at 6:30 can do so -- and send us back reports on whether to stay put at the bar until 7:30 or come to the party at K-Rock!

Thanks, Don. I'll definitely try and be there before the show. It looks like Woodenheads is only a couple of minutes away from my hotel.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. I can't believe it's only three days away!

There's a glitch. Apparently we're not the only Leonard Cohen fans who thought to gather at Woodenheads before the show. By the time I phoned to make reservations, there was no way they could accommodate 12 people. I've booked for four people. I'm going to try to book for a second table of four. I'll keep going back for as long as that works.

I'm also looking at other options.

On the plus side, there's a whole restaurant full of Leonard Cohen fans we haven't met yet! How cool is that?

Stay tuned for changes in plans. There's a Holiday Inn across the street with a big restaurant, and there's a Tex-Mex restaurant down the road. We may opt for one of those.

Any thoughts anyone?

We're not able to get a table for more than four people at Woodenheads. I will let the table stand in my name (Don) for anyone who wants to drop in and enjoy the tapas and the gourmet pizza.

In the meantime, I've booked a table for 20 down the street at the Lone Star. It's a Tex-Mex restaurant -- good beer and fajitas. The manager who took my reservation has seen the show in Toronto and in Montreal, and of course she's going to the Friday concert too. She'd be happy to welcome us.

So... 251 Ontario Street, any time after 5:30. It's just a couple of blocks from the K-Rock centre.
