Leonard Cohen deserves a national holiday in his honor in Canada! A petition has been started to urge the Canadian government to make Nov. 7th Leonard Cohen Day: a day that celebrates the immeasurable value of poetry and song, meditation and prayer:

As a Canadian, of course I am all in favour of a National Leonard Cohen Day, but I would vastly prefer it to be observed on September 21, the day of his birth. The fact that September 21 would coincide with the International Day of Peace would be quite fitting, I should think.
