The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed. Carl Gustv Jung..

I would love to introduce myself...I am from Germany, living in Canada..I studied at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zuerich and C.G. Jung and Leonard Cohen are the most important teachers to me.

The way, L.C. writes and sings is exactly what C.G. Jung calls the process of individuation..I feel blessed to have found this forum.. :D Helia..my name is Angelika

Pietro.
yes, Pietro, I do feel the same...it feels to me as coming out of the depth of his psyche...one needs a lot of "experience" to see it, like Leonard Cohen does it.

As a student of C.G. Jung..we would say, one needs to be aware of ones own shadowy parts in ones psyche and then one has to face that with honesty...once HE wrote: from bitter searching of the heart..we raise to play a greater part...and from my Jungian point of view ..that not only helps me, us..it also changes something in the world.

Be patient with my kind English, its my second language..thanks Angelika

Just before the end
Of a sumptuous feast
Of presence
Of poetry
Of performance
We are presented with
Another serving

Leonard 'happens to the heart'
If the heart is very lucky

It's not 'if the heart is very lucky', Sean.
It's that 'it is written'. Period.

I saw something recently (maybe here?)

There are two kinds of people
Those who love Leonard Cohen
And those who are wrong

I thought/think it is probably true

I don't believe in blind luck either, so I agree. (Poetic license) There is a cause/effect rule/relationship in our existences so in that way I would agree; if it is written in our cause/effect script of our potentialities

It is written in Tanakh, it is written by Cohen.
Jump off your superfluous bandwagon, mate.

This heart is lucky too
To have run into you
My rhyme I wrote
Two days ago
Was never read
Is not yet known
Today I take a chance
And give it to the man from France
There is a truth
Few seem to see
The Pharoahs are now
The Pharisees
Leonard seems to me
To be
A rainbow in a cave
When all is one
When there is no more learning
To be done
No need for moon
Or sun

Bonjour Jean

Bonsoir Sean,

and thanks for your poem!
Unfortunately I'm too daft to identify the rhyme you mention, but never mind.

As for not needing moon, nor sun well, of course not (except for those among us who don't live outside passing time, that is).

On the other hand, not long ago a fool said to me:

"At times now I dance with the moon on the water.
She knows nothing, just like me.
We are equals."
