Audio book....

Post by LaurieAK »

Jarkko~

I don't know if that has already been addressed or not...

Do you know if there are any plans to release an audio version of Book of Longing?? Or if they would be considered?

thanks,
Laurie

This was discussed earlier (many years ago). With the success of Book of Longing it might be a good idea to return to the topic again. Perhaps the publishers would find the potentials now much better than some years ago!

Thanks for the quick response!

Yes, I think the current success would make an audio book a natural next move by the publishers 8)

Leonard's voice is so much more important and poignant than the one I hear in my head when reading on my own. I hope this does happen.

Leonard's voice is so much more important and poignant . . .
. . . than even imagining his.

So true. Great idea!

Oh, I would gallop to a store to get an audio tape, his voice melts me.
It is very hard to get a copy of his past books. Not really interested in paying $100 on E-bay to buy a copy from someone looking to make a fast buck.
It would be GREAT if there would be a re-issue of his books. I know that there might be a quagmire of legal issues in this, but wow a girl can dream.

Let Us Compare Mythologies will be published in June (50th anniversary edition!).

There's no legal issues - Leonard owns all the books. Only thing is the good will from his publisher, and I am not sure do they show it, except for the reprints of both novels they did after many years in late 1990s/early 2000s.

This is one of the many ideas pondered by Leonard right now. However, first the promotional efforts have to take priority!!

Tri- me, There are currently over 1400 second-hand books by LC on the website http://www.abebooks.com This is not an auction site - all the books have a price according to their condition, many only cost a few dollars.

Maybe we can "ponder" another one: the live album which was announced for 2002 but neverocurred. The new buzz around Leonard is good opportunity to throw some ideas to Sony. They could give a small input to all these Canadian happenings.

I went looking today to see if there was an audiobook of Book of Longing recited by Leonard. I would definitely buy this and any others similar. Any news on this front?
