Kate Tempest

Postby Karren B » Tue Jul 21, 2015 3:39 pm

I posted this in Other Music but feel it belongs here too!

Kate Tempest is a London hip hop artist and poet, not the usual thing you'd find round here but this is possibly the most moving piece I've heard in a very long time.

I though LC and Dylan could write anti war material but this is something else. It left me speechless!

Warning...you may need to get the tissues out.

Wow

she is a power house and you weren't kidding about the tissues. I loved all three tracks (plus the stuff I just googled) and can't wait to listen to more of her. Thanks Karren!

Wow Indeed Cate!

I also enjoyed the other 2 tracks and there’s quite a bit of her stuff on line. She’s one amazing lady with some great credentials to her name…

I would love to be able to write with such passion, I’d also like to be able to commit that many lyrics to memory, I don’t know how she remembers them all? She’s doing a gig next week in London which I would have loved to have gone to but I already have a lot on so I hope to catch her in Winchester in mid August. I think we will be hearing a lot more about Kate Tempest in the future.

Here's another one I like, performed with her usual enthusiasm!

Wow, I'm just going to keep saying wow, I just love this woman's passion and energy and words and brain. I hope you get a chance to see her next month Karren there is something unique about the energy that comes with being in someones space.

not only does she memorize her pieces (I wonder if they change a little from night to night) but she also is present with the audience - even jokes in the middle with them without missing a beat.

Some beauty in return https://www.vice.com/en_se/read/sophie- ... t-time-405

This artist went to Istanbul and found people who had never been to the sea and took them there so that she could photograph them. I don't know what the man in the film is thinking but he has a very beautiful face that stays with you long after watching.
