"On the Trail of my father"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu_prw4CUhA

from the intro...
This is a excerpt for a documentary film I shot and co-directed in 2007 following the journey of Thokozani Dube, the son of late South African reggae icon Lucky Dube. Thokozani his eldest son who was present in the car when is father was gunned down tries to come to grips with the lost of his father. He travels with his late father's tour manager to Jamaica meeting old friends and fellow musicians. He is embraced by thought-provoking stories about his father and the impact his fathers music had in the world. This film was shot on location in South Africa, London and Jamaica.

Hi Hartmut,

I was introduced to his music by a friend from the Caribbean about 25 or more years ago...I hesitate to say this on the LC forum :) but seeing LD live might just have been my most memorable live concert ever made all the more memorable because I shared the occasion with some of my oldest friends.

I have posted his music a few times before but happy to post again....glad you enjoy it (or find it interesting) :)

Well, my statement was maybe a bit too reserved. Yes, I enjoyed it!

Beautiful - and funny (not the lyrics, but the instrumentation)!

You are forgiven. I think.

Nkulee Dube in Rotterdam...(she bears quite a resemblance to Serena W. IMO)

ND talks about her Dad...

she is quite a character...

Lucky Dube is a live wire act who's performances transform heartbreak and often painful topics into joyous celebration ...this distance between the lyrics and performances is sometimes jarring...

Celebrate his Life (Lucky Dube Band w 'TK' Dube)
