This is great! I love seeing that Ron Buitenhuis from Holland took part in it. I love his voice and singing :D .

Thanks for posting this, Henning.

Henning

I suspect this was a very rewarding festival for you, especially with your sisters getting into it like they did - it sure looks like you all had a good time! :D

I can't wait to hear some of your 1st set when you perform for us (perhaps on Hydra) but certainly when you're "down under" in September! 8)

Cheers :)

I was one of the lucky people at the “Tower of Song Festival, Wetzlar”. It was a beautiful evening in one of the the best clubs west of Moscow, :D with interesting performances and a nice public, among which where some Cohenites. from Belgium, Holland and Germany whom I met before with other events.
Henning thank you for organizing it,
Here you find an impression from Wetzlar and the festival.

Thanks for photos Wybe.

Looking at the photos it's wonderful to see the bodhrán, the heartbeat of Irish traditional music, being played in far off Wetzlar.

BTW Bob Dylan beat Henning by almost 2 years in putting Wetlzar on the musical map when in played there in the Mittelhessen Arena on October 30th. 2005.

Wetzlar is quite a famous gig in the Dylan world because he gave a rare performance of the achingly beautiful New Morning.

No doubt Henning didn't bother to attend.

And just for the record here is the set list for that wonderful night

Wetzlar, Germany
Mittelhessen Arena
October 30, 2005

1. Drifter's Escape
2. Señor (Tales Of Yankee Power)
3. God Knows
4. The Times They Are A-Changin'
5. Cry A While
6. Don't Think Twice, It's All Right
7. Highway 61 Revisited
8. Shooting Star
9. You Ain't Goin' Nowhere
10. Just Like A Woman
11. Honest With Me
12. A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall
13. New Morning
14. Summer Days
15. Like A Rolling Stone
16. All Along The Watchtower

See you on Hydra.

Good morning, Mr. Ken. I remember that concert. I wasn't there but I was told it was a good concert. It's rather unusual that a star like him would visit a rather small place but the venue is new and I think 5000 people fit in. As mentioned above in 2008 we will support Neil Young and his songs which I am glad to organize. But if health allows the day won't be far and the word is out that we will have to honour BD. I mean I wouldn't care as long it is Borussia Dortmund, anyhow it will be a challenge to me. When it comes to this, I'll surely try to get Mr. Elliott Murphy as headliner. He played the Franzis in 2006 already. I hope that you'll join that show when it comes to it.

Very impressive gig henning! Congratulations and sounds like it won't be long before you're a big time promoter/entertainer with the help and support of your wonderful family.

Much success in the future. (You may have to put off booking Hasellhoff (sp?). I see he has a bit of a problem with the drinking...haha).

I guess you are right, dar :-)
