Vivamus,
I'm impressed. Thank you very much for all the links. You're being very helpful. There must be some special ingredient in the Portuguese kitchen as all of you living in this beautiful country are incredibly considerate with others... I'm sorry to say Spain is different. Or maybe is just all about being a cohenite?
And now a culinaire disgression: as far as my poor Portuguese and slightly better English is concerned, robalo is lubina in Spanish and sea bass in English but not a trout (trucha in Spanish or truta in Portuguese) nor dourada (dorada in Spanish or gilthead bream).
And what Luis pointed out is VERY important: always make sure that the fish is "da costa" - from the seashore and "mal pasada" - not well done. For the best fish restaurant just cross the 25 Abril bridge and go to the "O Vento" restaurant in Costa da Caparica. If you're there at 6 or so pm you may even choose your fish directly from the net, as the fishermen tie up their boats on the beach just in front of the restaurant.
As for the meeting, I remain in waiting for your decisions, I don't want to talk anyone into anything they wouldn't like, however I do appreciate very much your taking into the consideration the pasteis de belem cafe. And of course after the concert there's still a possibility of afterhours. Probably is when my husband and I will have a dinner ;-) .
Thank you very much to you all for your kind words, for caring and for the positive energy fluids you've sent to me... I had a horrible day yesterday and probably lost the opportunity to get a normal (8 to 3) job... Kids ate at McDonalds and my PC broke down. Thank G-d the laptop is still working...
Cheers...

Magda..you are the one with the little children to organise, so we will be guided by you...and I will not starve if I miss a meal...I think perhaps the evening before, I will find myself over the 25th April Bridge to where the fish is coming out of the nets!!..Isnt it a coincidence that date is also very significant in NZ and Australia as our remembrance of Soldiers killed in the first war in Turkey.(1915).and the red poppies are what we wear on the day. It is also a special day for Portugal.....
Anyway Vivamus it looks like the cafe scene over there is similar to here with not just coffee but light meals easily found and another sort of drink if you want it as well.(Although the beautiful buildings leave me in awe..centuries older than ours...I will have to be careful as I wander around that I don't keep walking in to people as I examine the beautiful ceilings and walls)...Last week while we were pondering a venue I emailed my hotel up the hill to see if they were having dinner earlier that evening. They emailed me back and said yes that on the evening of the Leonard Cohen concert they would be having an earlier meal, that I was to let them know numbers and they would then show us some menus..(it seems now though that we have sorted it??.Have we??..I think firstly the pastry shop at an early evening time that suits you Magda, then .....we all at least have met, and could possibly find each other again in a crowd??...

Luis just a mention of rugby which was your first comments to me :) :) Last night I was out to dinner with some colleagues some of whom are really serious rugby followers..(well a great majority) I was talking to one of them about the world cup game between Portugal and the All Blacks...he was very animatedly telling me about how you scored the try and the whole crowd, (including New Zealanders) went wild as you were such wonderful heroes to cross the try line...so your rugby team are well remembered over here....I can get some preferential tickets to the All Black v Springboks game (tri nations) which is here the week before I leave for Portugal....It is about 4 years since they gave a a rugby test in Dunedin (and that was the last time I went to Carisbrook....but its such a great atmosphere!!..I think I will go..if only to participate in the big rolling mexican wave which I think they have now banned in other parts of the world????  For the worry of a riot :?: :?: ...Anyway sorry girls for mentioning the rugby.... see you at the pastry shop, we went around in a big circle didnt we!...

Aye, the moment when the referee awarded that try was glorious :D - everyone erupted including New Zealanders. That is the big difference between soccer and rugby: whilst rugby is a tough game for gentlemen, soccer is lighter game for trolls (or orcs). For some reason in soccer team supportes have to be separated and escorted by police, otherwise their hatred spoils the show. On the contrary, in Rugby there's no segregation between supporters and everyone joins for a pint after the match - the famous "3rd half".

You now, our try agains the All Balcks was deservedly considered by the IRB amongst the best 10 tries of the World Cup group stage. They considered that the forward's movement towards the line very close to the ground was technically very good. Plus to that, in that Test our fly half scored the tournament's first drop goal. So it was indeed an unforgettable day!

So I hope that the July 19th in Algés is at least as glorious as that September 15th in Lyon, and that the 3rd half is also memmorable!
