it was built by the thousands
a master mason monument be
the top apex was of gold
and was it a monument to be?
it shimmered in the moonlight
and pierced the barriers of babel
and transported faster than light can see
full of symbols and the mysteries of the free
a three dimensional trinity and the apple of the tree
a realisation of the importance of you and me
and sharpened razors when replicated in card
the dimensions of the holy bard
chambers here and chambers there
vents instead of the ease of stairs
ways to heaven if you could understand
thought migration under the sand
not a tomb to be raided
but mankinds hopes are faded
for failing to see
it opened with the riddle of the Sphinx
and none could understand thee
with it would have been a way to the stars
and a quantum leap to another universe afar
that replicates our bright sun
where there is no evil and all is as one
and one is all no duality meant
where life is love and no darkness intent
and life is love with no energy spent

I get this intensely colourful image of a bright, burgundy balloon, which is inside George's mind. The ballon gradually fills to bursting point and then, BANG, the whole fusion of all of the thoughts, images, emotions and energy is spread across our computer screens to be blasted into our minds. The imagery is stunning for me. I know that writing poetry is a very personal exploration of one's own life experience, tied into a whole plethora of external stimuli, and perceived education. I like you work George. It's unambiguous and unequivocally a highly, personal viewpoint. Best regards. Byron

It was built by thousands of slaves possibly over their lifetime (30 years or so at the time?? ). Half or more of them probably died building it, to satisfy the ego of an absolute monarch.

Thank goodness, i have been searching for this message for years. To think i would find it on the leonard Cohen message board!!!!! The film Contact is a fairy tale compared to this breakthrough. Getting my old valve radio out of the attic.............................tuning.........perhaps i need the amplification of the great pyramid??????

George, be careful. I tried the radio frequency given and found it was an Intergalactic Commercial Radio Station which carries some very wierd 5 note tunes, interspersed with adverts for Haemoroid Cream for the rings around Uranus. Regards. Byron.
