Re: Earthquake close to Hydra
I was visiting Hydra with a friend. One evening my friend asked me to look at the web page of our local finnish newspaper. There was news about an earthquake in Greece near Hydra, and some locals had left their homes. This had happened the previous evening late and we had not even understood what it was.
My friend had felt her bed shaking. I heard the window shutters clacking and as I walked it was shaky (was it the ouzo?). This did not last so long and as we were in separate rooms we didn't even talk about it, not even during the next day.
Well, it was a memorable holiday anyway with a ferry strike at the beginning, general strike at the end. Friendly people made all things work finally. Sunny peaceful walking days and even climbing to the Ilias monastery!
