I have previously stayed at the Erofili pension which is lovely, and Anna's which is a bit further up a hill and more basic.
The Alkionides is also very pretty , and like the Erofili has a nice courtyard. We have also stayed last time in 2009 at the Filenia - no breakfast but it is not far from a Bakery to get fresh bread or pastries each day.

I have already visited Hydra 3 times so don't expect to go again this summer. Flights and travel arrangements are actually quite difficult from where I live.

From Athens airport there are buses right outside that will take you to the harbour at Pireaus without having to change.

I'm sure you will enjoy the island.

I have found that Easy jet now do flights from Manchester so we do not have to go down to Gatwick anymore.Hurrah.They go Wed ,Frid and Sun.I am thinking of going on Wed the 8th-15th.Hope you will reconsider because it would be great if you could come.

Overjoyed that I might make myself understood to the native population, admitting I should have known that, given the heavy tourism the island receives.

I will have to look into some schedules before signing up, but my aim is now to attend. Far as Cohen-flicks, I have a few that I swept up from a store down under. Pure documentaries, and not so heavy on the music. You're likely to know them already, Ladies & Gentlemen: Mr. Leonard Cohen, and the two Under Review films that were made.

If all else fails, I shall skip and dance for our fellowship.

KjeXXXer - It will be my first trip to Hydra as well. So looking forward to this trip and am similarly happy that English will be somewhat understood. This is a trip I have really really tried to work out since the mid-1990s. My schedule and finances never allowed that. This year is set. Airline ticket already purchased and hotel reservation already confirmed. So looking forward to this trip I have only dreamt about for a decade and a half. Will be such a treat to meet and get to know fellow Cohenites in such a great setting in Hydra.

Hi....First time for Hydra also.....a fan for lots and lots of years...but only found the forum about 9 months ago ( only ! amazing )

First concert was Florence....

Your posts remind me of how I felt... and where I have been ...and meeting and sharing all things Leonard, with friends from around
the world......Such excitement...so much love shared....It is an amazing adventure that goes on and on!....
I am not sure if there is any other world, like this one......Leonard Cohen and Friends.

Since this is my first trip to Greece, and may be, my only one.....have been considering spending a few days exploring, before the
meet-up in Hydra..................

Gallina - Glad you got things worked out.

Jeanne - I am planning on arriving one day before this event but remaining several days after (June 9-17 are dates actually in Hydra). I still need to work on my lodging for the night of June 17 somewhere near the airport in Athens. Doubtful that I could stay on Hydra the night of the 17th with a 12:00 PM flight on the 18th.
