Cate, I hope you will!...and try to stay there ;-)

I was standing near the photographer when he took the pic of the "blue door" and when he showed it later I called it "The door to Paradise".....Hmmm.....I should have gone through the door, staying there... :-)

For everyone who needs to take a peek at Hydra now and than.
I made a link on my Hydra 2009 webpage to take a look at the actual weather and the Web cam.

The webcam is great. I have made it to a morning habit to check the weather on Hydra before I do anything else. I'm addicted to this glimpse ;-)

Such colours.

I will have to bring a set of paints and brushes when I go there.
Now you've got the gist of what my lettuce meant.

Yes, Axel, there are such intense colours.....and such a lot of unique motives.... more than you will have time for painting

I again forgot to take my paints and brushes when there...so I will to do it at home....

This will be my next motive:

I am sorry to report that the doorknob at Leonard's house
is now gone. Gone is also the surveillance camera over the door,
the apricot tree has beeen replaced by another plant
and last but not the least gone are also the banana trees from the garden
(alas Mr Roger Green!).

The house is under massive renovation by Adam Cohen
who now owns the place.

Hydra however is as you know her.
Beautiful and seductive.

Dem-that doorknob survives in (at least) a few hundreds of cohenite photos!

Henning-what song is that?

I wish the doorknocker had at least stayed. I guess it's time for a new history of door knocking.

The door-knocker was still there when I was on Hydra in April.Amazingly, I don't seem to have taken a final photo of it....

Not much had changed when I was there...Nikos is still at the Portofino, and Giannis, Vashu, Costas and Pannis are at the Roloi. Vassilis has squabbled with them and now works a few cobblestones over at the Cafe GoGo. Giannis and Vasilis are still buddies, though. Joanna the donkey lady is still smiling, and the arms of Leonidas and Pannagiotta at Sophia's are open wide.... And Christina and Manolis and Christo and that dark-eyed Albanian boy fed me graciously and generously on the roof terrace ( I went weak in the knees when I tasted the melitzanosalata...)
And, yes, they are still singing down at Dousko's!

Wybe one of the things that have changed
is that "Emporiki Bank" is not anymore were
