Re: L.C. Song Hunt
Hartmut, Yes, it is "Banjo": "It's a broken banjo bobbing / On the dark infested sea." (This song has some commonality with the song recorded by Johnny Paycheck: "Old Violin." Mentioned this elsewhere on the forum. May have since deleted the mention. My preference among...

Re: L.C. Song Hunt
Hi Hartmut, Hadn't thought of "burning violin" from "Dance Me To The End of Love," though it's an excellent answer. Plywood violins and cheap violins probably aren't "beyond all repair" (coincidental usage... no hint intended). So, those lesser grade instruments wouldn'...

Hi,
"Too far gone for a luthier" are words that are probably applicable for a situation presented in
what song?

Hi Hartmut,
I was ingeniously wrong. Am afraid I jumped into the question without fully assimilating earlier
posts on it. Sorry about that.

Hi Hartmut,
Making no reference to any drink, restaurant, or city, and only guessing at this: Tom Wolfe's
The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test and Leonard Cohen's "Field Commander Cohen" with
"parachuting acid into diplomatic cocktail parties" might be what you have in mind.

Re: L.C. Song Hunt
Hi Hartmut, Is it John Irving's book Until I Find You ? I haven't read the book, so can't confirm that "If It Be Your Will" makes an appearance in the story. The hint about Leonard Cohen's friend and teacher brought about this answer. My guess is that the hint is referring to Irving Layton.

Re: L.C. Song Hunt
Hi Roman,
Darker... okay, maybe "Avalanche" with: "Well I stepped into an avalanche, / it covered up
my soul." (A similarly very dark song is Townes Van Zandt's "The Hole" with: "It's cold and
dark and lonely here.")

Re: L.C. Song Hunt
Hi Roman,
"Joan Of Arc" has lines that paint a dark picture that is in contrast to Van Gogh's "The Starry Night."
These are the ones: "no moon to keep her armor bright, / no man to get her through this very smoky
night."

Hi,
Roman's answer of "The Letters" is perfectly correct, as is "Famous Blue Raincoat" provided by
Hartmut. Had "Famous Blue Raincoat" in mind.

Hi Bev, "The Butcher" has these words: "I am what I am." "You Know Who I Am" these: "You know who I am." The Old Testament these in Exodus 3:14: "I am who I am." The New Testament these in John 8:58: "Before Abraham was, I am." (An iconic, ...

Re: L.C. Song Hunt
Hi Bev, Am no expert on the bible, myself. Nevertheless, attempted to find an answer to the question. Came up empty. Considered "The Butcher" because of the words "only son" there and thought there could be some overlap with words in "Story of Isaac" because Isaac is sp...
