Re: Where

There is no visit by Leonard to Ireland in August.

What you have probably heard about is the fan Event in Dublin from 7th to 10th August.

Re: Russell Harvey passed away.

Thank you to those who were able to attend the service and report back to us here. It sounds like it was a wonderful occasion with so many mixed emotions and memories of a lovely man.

Farewell Russell. Rest in peace.

Re: Public Memorial Tribute for Lou Reed in NYC

What a good idea for a tribute to Lou.

I only saw him once, and that was in one of Hal Wilmer's "Came so far for beauty" productions, but he was one of the best.

Thank you Thelma for reporting this.

Re: Russell Harvey passed away.

I was so sad to read this news. John and I first met Russell on Hydra and I met him again later in Barcelona. We had some correspondence and I remember sending him a parcel of Cohen discs a few years ago.
RIP Russell.

Re: Registration for 2014 Event

Chrissie,
just go back to the previous page for the details of registration. The fee usually covers the cost of hiring venues, some sightseeing and other entertainment and a few souvenir items.

Re: From Dublin to Galway

Olwen if you want to read all about it and see the photos, check out the LC Walking Weekend in Other Gatherings, http://www.leonardcohenforum.com/viewforum.php?f=13 You might need to skip to around page 145 onwards for this years event. I think about 50 of us made it to Galway from around the world.

Re: From Dublin to Galway

http://www.buseireann.ie/pdf/1360752896-020X.pdf If the above doesn't work go to journey planner and download timetable for Dublin/Galway which seems to be the X20 The timetable shows that only certain buses (alternate ones) will stop to pick up or drop off at the airport. They start or end at the m...

Re: From Dublin to Galway

Ah Ha! I already asked about that, and Deirdre has rung the bus company. It is OK to pick up the bus at the airport. The "end to end" rules are just to put off people getting on for only part of the journey across Ireland. Going all the way to Galway from the airport is OK, and I suppose b...

Re: From Dublin to Galway

In addition to Gobus and citylink mentioned in earlier posts, there is also Bus Eireann. Currently a special offer of only 5Euros each way if booked in advance online. Worth a look if you are travelling between 10.00am. and 3.pm between these cities. http://www.buseireannexpressway.com/ The timetabl...

Re: LC Walking Weekend (2009, 2011, 2013)

Interesting! My flight details says I land at Terminal 2 in Dublin. So does that mean 20 minutes plus 30 minutes to get to the bus stop? Getting a bit confused now  I might be taking the later bus to Galway!

Re: LC Walking Weekend (2009, 2011, 2013)

Dave, did you notice the location of the Aer Lingus arrivals? I deliberately chose them rather than contribute to Ryanairs profits!

No matter, I shall be travelling in my hiking boots
