Greetings Lucas,
Welcome to the board. If the women hadn't left Leonard (or he hadn't left them), I don't think we would have so many great songs! Though on some level, I don't think that any of the women have ever really left him.
All the best, John E

Hi Pete,
Cambridge is a great city to play in (and only 55 by train from London).
The bigger venue (but not huge) is the Cambridge Corn Exchange, which is seated. The Junction is a smaller standing venue (John Cale played there recently). Best wishes, John E

I think a great way to resolve some of the issues that have arisen in this thread would be for someone to present me with two tickets to see Anjani and Leonard in New York. I could then show that I would actually be prepared to fly to New York for the concert, and I could give the other ticket to Gi...

Well, thanks Lizzy ...you must be psychic! The photo was taken at Brasenose College in Oxford, last year. I must say that it's a rather flattering one. The mirror may not lie, but the camera sometimes does. I have been around the Leonard world a long time, you know...to attend 15 London concerts, an...

Thanks for such a well-considered reply, Lizzy. I realise now that a show I would like to see would be billed as "The songs of Anjani, and the poetry of Leonard Cohen". Thus Anjani would get full-recognition and we would get a chance to see Leonard again". Also, because the billing wo...

Hi Lizzy, That was a great piece of writing, and probably the best post that I've read from you. However, I also think that Gina's post contains a lot of truth and that she did not intend to be overly critical of Anjani. It is difficult to decide on how best Anjani might be promoted, because her wor...

Hi Gina, I think flying to New York just to catch a glimpse of Leonard is obssesive to say the least (especially when nothing is guaranteed). Though maybe if I had the money, and I thought it might be the only chance I get to see Leonard again, then I would do the same. Actually, I think this tour w...

Don't take me so seriously, Lizzy! (and check the subject box on Tom's post). Meanwhile, I more or less accept without reservation any of Leonard's songs that Anjani might record. After all, Leonard does seem to be passing the torch to her. I've no doubt that "The Smokey Life" Will be quit...

I can't help thinking that some songs are so totally and inextricably part of Leonard and who he is, that no-one else should touch them (come to think of it, most of his songs are like that). Even though I like Nick Cave's "Abbatoir Blues", I wish that he too had left "'m Your Man&quo...

Hi Teratogen, Whilst there's nothing essentially new about the movie, it does contain some great previously unseen footage. It also brings together the main threads of Lennon's mission, and shows how intelligent he was. This is refreshing when we have previously had to put up with so much ridicule s...

Regarding the petition for an honary knightood for Leonard, I tend to agree with Liverpool Ken (further back). I'm sure that Simon has the best of intentions in proposing this, and I've no doubt that if Leonard were awarded such a title, he would probably accept and say something like "Thank yo...

The U.S. v John Lennon

"The U.S. v. John Lennon" (2006) is a great movie by my friend David Leaf, and you can see it on (UK) BBC2 tonight at 11.35pm. Don't miss!

Come to think of it, this is the perefect time to start buying Leonard's work, because the re-masters are all about to be issued (with extra tracks). You could do far worse than to buy the re-masters in sequence. The first three (due very soon ) are "Songs of LC", "Songs From a Room&q...
