Wow! A sudden leap to 65 per cent today...this is incredible (at this rate, NEeMA might reach her target in time).

Re: Neema - Painting My Wall Gold

Good to see that NEeMA has gone from 13 to 34 per cent in the last couple of weeks. However with only 4 days left to reach her target, surely there are more people who will at least pledge to buy her CD?

Re: Neema - Painting My Wall Gold

I've just pledged! With 13 days to go, it will be great if Forum members can help NEeMA achieve her goal, as they did with Hattie Webb's "To the Bone". NEeMA's previous album "Watching You Think" is one of the great albums from ladies associated with Leonard (check out my review on Amazon). Her for...

Re: Music from1955 to 1965

Since it's John Leyton's 80th birthday, I'll add a song of his that I've liked for 54 years (I was 10 when it was released). I finally got to see him play live and meet him last year, and he totally lived-up to my expectations.

R.I.P. Colin Vearncombe (Black)

Tragically, the great Colin Vearncombe (the singer known as Black) has died following a terrible car accident: Here are three of my favourite songs by him: 1. Wonderful Life: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMXz3TQOS_c 2. Now You're Gone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCVh5dmcLP8 3. When It's Over...

Re: Do you believe David Bowie will ever tour again?:)

Glad to hear that you enjoyed my piece, and that you managed to see Bowie before he stopped touring! I was sorry to hear that Glen Frey had died. I saw the Eagles three times, at different stages in their career, and they always played an excellent live set.

Re: Do you believe David Bowie will ever tour again?:)

I stop short of calling David Bowie a genius, as his influences were numerous, including Anthony Newley, Eddie Cochran, Dylan, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Jacques Brel, Scott Walker, Lindsay Kemp, and many others (Bowie himself in a TV documentary admitted he borrowed a lot from others, but had chosen well)...

Re: Long Lost Interview 1970s

Hi Philip, I've appended my concert signature to the post above. I'm glad you got to see Leonard a few times and shake his hand. I've only met Leonard twice - Once briefly on my 25th birthday, after his second show at London's New Victoria Theatre, and once properly at his art exhibition in Manchest...

Re: Long Lost Interview 1970s

THANK YOU, Philip! This is absolutely wonderful. This "interview" perfectly captured my experience of what it was like to be a Leonard devotee in the early-mid Seventies. Actually, it's not so much an interview as a cleverly created vehicle for Leonard to read his latest poems. Although I read most ...
