Re: Leonard Has Passed Away

It's taken me nearly three days to get to the board. The last three days have been spent in mourning and celebration of Leonard's life, including many lengthy telephone calls with friends. I heard from two reliable sources earlier this year that Leonard had not been well, but hoped for the best. How...

"Hallelujah" by Pentatonix

I'm posting this , as I don't think it's been mentioned here before (but I may be wrong). http://www.faithtap.com/7030/pentatonix-beautifully-covers-hallelujah/?utm_source=wimp&utm_medium=Facebook&utm_campaign=main&src=wimp Not for me though...I personally tend to steer well clear of &qu...

"That Time of Night" by Michael Chapman

Here's a wonderful new version of one of Michael Chapman's greatest songs, "That Time of Night" (it features Bridget St John on accompanying vocals): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gbsyN_YxIs&feature=youtu.be I've always thought that this would be a great song for Leonard to cover, b...

Re: Title song 'You Want It Darker' now on YouTube and Spotify etc

Lightning - Yours is an excellent take on Leonard's new song, which articulates many of my initial presumptions. I've listened to it twice, but will leave it now till I buy the album, as I like to absorb a new work as a whole.

Re: Hattie Webb E.P. Launch at King's Place (2nd Sept. 2016)

I managed to get a seat in the front row at Hattie's concert, and sitting next to me were Tom Johnson, who I previously met at a Webb Sister's gig, and his two talented daughters Maisie and Alice (15 & 13 respectively). They're self-taught musically, and I particularly like this song by them: ht...

Hattie Webb E.P. Launch at King's Place (2nd Sept. 2016)

King’s Place was an impressive and prestigious venue for the launch of Hattie Webb’s new E.P. “The Mouth of the Sea”. The receptionists were helpful and pleasant, as were the three smiling ladies downstairs, selling Hattie’s merchandise. Mum and dad Webb were also close at hand to welcome friends an...

Re: New Album announced: 'You Want It Darker'

When I heard the title, I heard the title I had an ominous feeling that it might be Leonard's "Blackstar", but I see that "You Want it Darker" is the name of the opening track.

Hattie Webb at Green Note (31st July 2016)

Hattie's first London gig of the year turned-out to be another great success! When I arrived at Green Note, just before 6.30 pm, the queue was already longer than usual. However doors opened unusually promptly and almost everyone was able to get comfortably seated. There was a convivial atmosphere b...
