Re: Along the way ... Discovering Leonard's Albums. continued...

Vickie, Even though I too live in the country and by the sea a few months ago I installed a new very fast internet service and it’s excellent. I hope your new satellite service will be faster as well. I haven’t looked anything up yet about Leonard and Marianne but I think they simply slowly drifted ...

Re: Giant mural in Montreal commemorating Leonard Cohen

Oh, Bev, I'm beginning to think that you are actually quite fond of the "grumpy" Leonard portrait, the way you seem to be taking sides with its supporters and admirers. Ah Lisa, I'll always prefer a happy face to a sad one! All I wrote previously is that I was truly optimistically hoping his expres...

Re: Along the way ... Discovering Leonard's Albums. continued...

Thanks again everyone for your feedback! I don’t have to tell you how special this all is for me. Vickie As I've said before, this has been a healing process for me and a pleasure to help here in some way. Firstly, I thought I’d add this LC quote to the previous ones about how he feels about his wo...

Re: Giant mural in Montreal commemorating Leonard Cohen

Indeed, very effective points and opinions Lisa and Geoffrey!

As for the general public, for good or for bad, art is always is the eye of the beholder.

As regards Leonard, maybe they don’t know him like we do ;-)

Re: Giant mural in Montreal commemorating Leonard Cohen

Can't help myself, Lisa :) Murals honouring Leonard Cohen get mixed reviews https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7rPJLjJ68c Published on Jun 19, 2017 One Montreal mural dedicated to the late Leonard Cohen is being widely praised, but a second one commissioned by the city is causing controversy and dredg...

Re: Bench updates

Ah Marie,
I saw Jarkko's post this morning and couldn't find the right words to say and you have said it all for me - I couldn't agree more :D

Just one thing I would add if I may......I've never seen Jarkko looking so dashing in a photo as in the one above ;-)

Re: Giant mural in Montreal commemorating Leonard Cohen

Lisa, I can totally relate to your words and I like what Vicki said over the page too. And yes I am an optimist - the latest visual does show a slight softening of LC's face :) Maybe because of the new tonal quality as compared with the first stark monochromatic sketch. Here's an update :http://www....

Re: Along the way ... Discovering Leonard's Albums. continued...

Thanks Vickie, for your kind words – much appreciated! I received plentiful pleasure from doing those portraits! And yes, you are right about the Isle of Wight one. It was actually my very first portrait of Leonard and it was done for him to commemorate the new DVD release of that occasion. I make m...

Re: Giant mural in Montreal commemorating Leonard Cohen

Lisa and Geoffrey,
I agree but It's early days yet and approx another two weeks before it's finished so it's possible LC's expression isn't finalised yet .... maybe a slight upward tweaking of the lips (at least one corner) could make all the difference

 Vickie, that last post of yours made me laugh out loud! And of course you know your journey has but yet begun! Glad your new headphones sound truly excellent! With studio songs not played in concert there are possibly 33 not counting the last two studio albums. You know, all of the songs from ...

Re: Along the way ... Discovering Leonard's Albums. continued...

I expect that eventually some of this work will surface, and I have great hopes that this will be done in in a way that will honor Leonard and his fans rather than solely for monetary reasons. These hopes are bolstered by the fact that those who would have the most say are his children and his loya...

Vickie wrote: Please tell me what you mean by 'Crosses and Losses' pattern. Are you just talking religion and love or something else? I tried to Google it but only got quilting block directions! He he! Vickie, it’s the same as for my “alpha” simile – you won’t find my meaning in Google! But as you’...

Re: Along the way ... Discovering Leonard's Albums. continued...

Hi Vickie, Sounds like life is happening to you while you are busy making others plans :) I’m remembering the first time I played my CD of Dear Heather. I totally wasn’t prepared for all the duets and female voices at all and wasn’t quite sure what to think about that. I do know I just wanted Leonar...
