Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's albums

Vickie wrote: If someone told me a year ago that I would be sitting here counting the minutes.. waiting to buy tickets for a Leonard Cohen event in Montreal for which I had already purchased airline tickets and accommodations for, I would have told them they were crazy! Ha! Those words reminded me ...

Re: September 21 - Leonard's birthday

Vickie and Patrycja,
Thank you both for your kind words about my tribute to Leonard.
I shed some tears putting it all together.
My offering comes from the heart as does every single other post here.

Re: September 21 - Leonard's birthday

Twelve o’Clock Chant (LC's first song - written 1951, sung L&G film 1965) Hold me hard light, soft light hold me, Moonlight in your mountains fold me, Sunlight in your tall waves scald me, Ironlight in your wires shield me, Deathlight in your darkness wield me. As it was in the beginning and is in ...

Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's albums

Vickie, your reactions and experiences are absolutely normal around here! And Dave is uncannily right about the "fan" word! Maybe he's been paying more attention to LC than you are aware, ha! Leonard used to always say he didn't like to use that word because we were more than that to him. He forever...

Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's albums

Ha! Jean, of course you are right :D And just to complete my frivolity with this “song” here’s another of my assembled ideas images I was going to post as a visual clue of who Victoria really is and also illustrating the sentence – Next Tuesday, when the sun goes down, I will play the Moonlight Sona...

Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's albums

Hi Vickie, Those names you mentioned are co-incidentally the same and a perfect red herring but nothing to do with the answer. Interesting that your name is included too, isn't it :) I'll wait a little while to see if someone can solve puzzle no 2. Akk! I didn't realize it also came in a DVD because...

Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's albums

Hehe! As I said above "just for fun", unbeknown to you all I actually set two puzzles relating to The Great Event for you to solve and so far you have completed the first successfully! Well observed! I was nearly going to say something when Vickie commented on the first one but I thought I'd wait un...

Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's albums

 Oh, well done 4! Very entertaining! And you're obviously having fun with it! I hope I have had something subliminal to do with unleashing this creative streak but I can't take any credit for your wonderful dry sense of humour ;-)

Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's albums

This is a suggestion based on that of 4’s at the very beginning of this LC album journey and one Vickie rigidly stuck to .... and I don’t know how she had the discipline to do it! We started chronologically first with the studio albums and then the live albums. We still have three live (including an...

Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's albums

Hi all, For the purpose of balance and contrasting observations (and advanced LC studies ;-) ) I thought I’d impart some facts relating to the actual songs themselves that happen to be on the New Skin For The Old Ceremony album. Some info you will know and some maybe not. Firstly from Leonard’s poin...

Re: ever wondered?

That was an interesting scenario with the 78 records! You could say its called living in the now :) I can’t lay my hands on my poncho at the moment because I’m getting renovations done and there are boxes and stuff and people everywhere! I actually haven’t seen it since last winter. I’ll look later ...

Re: ever wondered?

Hi again Geoffrey, I think my thought of the Einstein quote was because most of my working life has been professionally involved in the art industry and that includes being an art teacher. I have found that you can easily impart your knowledge of all art techniques to your students but it’s entirely...

Re: ever wondered?

inventive? i read yesterday that an idea is a greater monument than a cathedral, but feel mine are the size of dolls' houses. your inspired comments betray a fertile imagination, the type of which i never have possessed. thank you so much for stopping by :) Ah Geoffrey, my pleasure! You know I thin...

Re: ever wondered?

hehehe! I never thought I'd ever see the day when Leonard would turn to "heavy metal" ;-)
That's very inventive, Geoffrey!

A second thought says he's very magnetically attractive this way as well :)

Re: Along the way... Discovering Leonard's albums

I am thinking of reading A Broken Hallelujah by Liel Leibovitz. It seems to be the most recent one that is strictly about him. Does anyone here have an opinion on that one? Vickie, I haven’t read A Broken Hallelujah so I can’t give you any first hand comments on the book. I am also going to move on...
