Re: A Death in the Family

My gratitude and thanks to Cate, Sereneava, Adam (Boss) and of course, my imaginary friend. It helps to know that fans of Leonard (our common interest) have taken the time to read and respond to my message. Michael's colleagues and editors, students and fellow tutors, have all expressed their sorrow...

A Death in the Family

My friends, The love of my life, Michael Crawley (aka Felix Baron, also an author of erotica) died on December 22, 2013, in the heart of and at the height of the great ice storm that struck the Greater Toronto Area over the holiday season. There's no bad time to listen to Leonard Cohen but during ti...

Rodin,
May I ask why you will pay me for it rather than order it from the merchandise page? Just wonderin' . . .

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Kingston, Ontario - December 13, 2012

sturgess, re: the set list you posted. Did Leonard actually sing the list of songs that includes Joan of Arc? I don't believe he performed any of the songs on that little list at the Ottawa concert. Are they possible alternates or . . . what is that list? Please elaborate.

Thanks!

Re: 2012 Program from Cohen's N.A. Tour for sale

Thank you Wendy and mutti. I didn't know about the ticket sales rule. It's a good rule. I did state clearly that my proposed payment for the program is overpriced. My original post is half tongue in cheek and half serious. I should never have bought all that merchandise at the concert but I could no...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Kingston, Ontario - December 13, 2012

I just finished talking to my youngest daughter, who will spend Xmas in Quebec with her Dad. She and I have had our differences of opinion over the years, to say the least, but on the L.C. concert (I saw him in Ottawa, she saw the Kingston show) we share a sense of affection and admiration for Leona...

Re: Google translation of article written in French:

I love this line:
Cohen, imperturbable in his impeccable business suit.

I think I'll leave it at that. :?

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Ottawa, Ontario - December 7, 2012

Thanks Mary. I thought perhaps I'd gone on for rather a long time without saying much about the actual show. I am a writer who needs an editor. Re: the Toronto/Tarahna issue: Many years ago I attempted to study "Teaching English As A Second Language" as a way to supplement my meagre income...

2012 Program from Cohen's N.A. Tour for sale

Leonard Cohen Old Ideas Tour 2012 Official Program This program was purchased on Dec.7, 2012 at the Cohen Concert in Ottawa. (See my post on World Tour 2012-2013; Ottawa Concert) I believe this is the same program used in the European tour. It's fat and fantastic, tons of pictures including an actu...

Re: CONCERT REPORT: Ottawa, Ontario - December 7, 2012

I loved the concert. Cohen made an arena feel like a small club. When the first encore performance began the band seemed to settle into a 'jam session' feeling that made me wish it were a real jam session and they'd just keep going, getting hotter and looser, past midnight and into the wee hours of ...

Re: Leonard Cohen Awarded the Ninth Glenn Gould Prize

Tuesday, 15 May 2012 The Glenn Gould Prize Gala Celebrates the 9th Laureate, Leonard Cohen This event has left me speechless but I'll try: I'm so grateful to live close enough to Leonard Cohen to have attended this ceremony. He is so loved, by so many. I think he knows it. My homage poem, "Famo...

This movie made me happy when I saw it. The kids idolize him and sing his songs with such focus and love. Just gorgeous.

Hmmm, I never thought to go figure that out. Thanks for the information, although I don't know exactly what I can do with it. I have heard of people going in and buying their books for the thrill of seeing their rating change.

Re: Famous Troubador

I could do a story about a gal on an ironing board...but right now I have guys outside my sixth floor windows, fixing brick... and I think that swinging scaffolding with those hard body dudes has sparked an idea for a story that must be written first. Will keep the ironing board fantasy, though not ...
